It covers the essential pharmacological principles for each drug, as well as providing key clinical pearls and links to the most important studies that defined the clinical utility of the drug. The text is designed to be used by busy house officers and residents as well as nurses and mid level providers. Our hope is that this guide will improve knowledge of the most common drugs, reduce prescription errors, and eventually improve patient safety. While a number of excellent pharmacological texts are available, this guide is meant to compliment not replace those. Our hope is to provide a resource that will be easy to incorporate into a busy life of the first line care providers and will be considered essential reading for residents and nurses as they pick up a new service.

MUST HAVE PHARM BOOK!

This book is truly an invaluable resource to everyone in the medical field. Having been part of the medical field for over 16 years, I can say without a doubt that this is one of the best resources I have used. As medicine physicians, a large part of what we do pertains to the proper, timely and accurate administration of drugs. This book serves as an easy to use, concise and thorough reference for any busy health care professional (students, nurses, pharmacists, residents, fellows and practicing physicians alike) managing complex patients with multiple medications. My brother who is a medical student loves having this handy resource on the wards. Similarly, one of my friends who is an ICU nurse finds this book to be a great resource. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

Drs. Gurm, Konerman and colleagues have published a gem in this e-book. Having recently taken the cardiology boards I can attest that the everything you need to know about pharmacology for the exam is in chapter one of this book. More importantly, the concise and organized layout, with information distilled to pertinent, readily findable pears, and with links to the primary literature is such a helpful reference when taking care of patients. With the complexity of pharmacologic options ever increasing, no physician can keep all the pertinent information in their head. Broad databases like epocrates are muddled and miss the point often with respect to acute care medicine. This book has what you need to know and tells you why you need to know it. Worth every penny

Dr. Gurm and Dr. Konerman have written an excellent review on pharmacologic inpatient care, particularly as it pertains to the cardiac critical care. It is an easy to read, simple, and thorough, and will be very useful to anyone who works in the CCU, or on a cardiology floor, including nurses and housestaff. This book provides very practical, day to day tips on patient care. It also includes helpful bedside tips that come from years of experience that are not easily found in most textbooks. Additionally, all of its recommendations are guideline-based. I would highly recommend this book to all internal medicine and cardiology programs.

London: Hidden Interiors has 180 examples which have been selected from a complete range of building types to convey the richness and diversity of London’s architectural heritage, and the secrets that lie within. After the German airstrikes during WWII destroyed many buildings in London, a concerted effort was made to preserve historic buildings and places. This gorgeous book captures the interiors of 180 different places throughout London, mostly private buildings or areas with restricted public access. Examples include the ornate ceilings and floors of Freemason’s Hall; the decaying walls and stairs of an abandoned subway station in Kingsway; and the regal dining hall of the Charterhouse monastery, where Sir Thomas More found retreat in 1499. There is also a peek inside Lloyd’s of London and the Ministry of Defence. Each entry has a descriptive narrative and two to four pages of brilliant color photographs—1,700 photographs in all. About the Author
As a chartered town planner, historian and international expert in heritage conservation, Philip Davies has been in the forefront of managing change to London’s most important historic buildings and places for over 35 years, most recently as the Planning and Development Director for London and South-East England at English Heritage. He is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society and a Trustee of the Heritage of London Trust. Philip’s most recent books Lost London 1870-1945 and Panoramas of Lost London (both also available from Welcome Rain) were published to huge acclaim.

With over 40 years experience Derek Kendall is one of the most talented and respected Architectural and Fine Art photographers of his time. With his intimate knowledge of London’s built heritage and an exceptional eye for detail, Derek’s pictures have graced the pages of over 60 publications.

Spectacular photos . . .

of many places you would never get to see in London. And the text is very interesting.
It is amazing that some of these large and, seemingly, little-used now spaces have been
kept up so well. It is a book for pleasurable browsing.
